Sensory Issues and Fashion- My Favorite Sensory-Friendly Brands

I struggle with sensory issues and fashion because I want to stay trendy, but I am also very picky when it comes to fabrics and textures that I wear. This week, I want to share the brands I have been wearing that I like. Some of the brands are expensive, but it is possible to get them on resale from sites like Depop or Poshmark.
1: Aviator Nation Sweatshirts (Average price: $150-200)

These sweatshirts are the softest I have ever worn. They are so comfortable and, in my opinion, look effortlessly cute. I have a few sweatshirts and a T-shirt. The sweatshirts also do not have tags, so I can still see the size and care information without having an itchy tag at the neck of my shirt. I do not recommend the sweatpants; the elastic is strangely tight, so they feel like pants that are too tight, even though I went up more than one size. Overall, I cannot get over how soft these are. While they are ridiculously expensive, I have been able to find some for resale on Poshmark and Depop for between $60 and $80, which are in fantastic condition. They also are pretty easy to wash and don't get scratchy after a few wears.
2: Viori Joggers (Average Price: $94)

I have sensory issues with my legs due to my hereditary spastic paraplegia, so finding comfortable pants can be a challenge. Pants that are soft but too thin confuse my nerves, and pants that are too itchy irritate my legs. I have many pants that are fine, but they aren't remarkable. I have had the opportunity to try Viori joggers, and they are incredibly soft. These are my new favorite sweats. Just like with Aviator Nation, I have two pairs that I thrifted; each pair ended up costing between $20-$35. I highly recommend getting these on resale; the quality is great, and the softness is unbeatable. They also are easy to wash, which is great.
3: 23 degrees coats: (Average Price: Around $20)

I get these at Costco, and they are so warm. I have lived in mine for years, and I love how compact yet warm it is for a fuzzy jacket. I have one in black and one in a baby blue color, and I recommend them for cold weather because they really were designed to keep the cold out. I have some other fuzzy jackets I like, but I keep coming back to these. I highly recommend these jackets if you struggle to stay warm like I do. They also are easy to wash, which is a plus.
4: Roxy Sneakers (Average Price: $40-55)

These have been on the blog before, but they really are the only casual sneakers I can wear every day and not feel like my feet are killing me. I might be keeping this brand alive with how much I purchase from them, and I don't see too many other people wearing them. They aren't thick like a regular sneaker, and the soles on the inside are soft. The only bummer is it is easy to wear down the sole, so I do have to repurchase these a couple of times a year. But I do what I have to do to not be in foot pain.
5: A New Day Tank Top (Average price: $8)

I love these tank tops. They also don't have tags and are not scratchy. They are also easy to wash and come in every color you could ever want or imagine. I wear them for professional shirts with a jacket, in the summer with jeans or shorts and cool jewelry, and under sweatshirts in the winter. I probably have these tank tops under my Aviator Nation sweatshirt. I also can't beat the cost; they are cheap enough to replace them if they get stained or ripped.
Bonus points if I am wearing all five items at the same time, that is my ultimate definition of comfort.
Thank you for reading about my recommendations for sensory-friendly clothing. Please let me know if you have any good recommendations for flat shoes and waterproof boots. I need a good, reliable pair of each, and I haven't found any. If you have any questions or comments, please comment on the blog, reach out at @Anniekrollblog on Instagram or Facebook, or email me at Anniekrollblog@gmail.com. I hope to see you next week!
I agree with you about Viouri, unbelievable soft and no tags. A New Day tees from target don’t have tags either and are soft. We have switched to cotton flannel sheets for the winter. If you haven’t tried them you are in for a surprise. Extremely soft and warm.
